Biography
Benton Elliott (He/They) was born in Halifax and grew up in Nova Scotia, around both Lunenburg County (New Ross) and Kings County (Coldbrook). Benton began his career in acting at the young age of 7, doing various background jobs on film and TV throughout his youth which was fueled by his love for cinema and television. Benton had always been interested in the magic behind the creation of film and TV. But it wasn't until his time at the Ross Creek Centre for Arts summer camp, during and improv workshop, that his love for performance would truly be sparked.

Benton's passion for performing is what would eventually lead him to the Fountain School of Performing Arts Acting Program at Dalhousie University. It wouldn't be until the summer after his first year at Dal, however, that Benton would really discover his love for theatre, as he would find himself back at Ross Creek working as a production assistant for Two Planks and a Passion. While at Two Planks Benton was able to see for the first time the amount of coordination, and communication, and trust in community that it takes to put a show together, and he fell in love.

Since then Benton has performed in two Dal Theatre Society Plays (Little Women & As You Like It); Performed in a devised production; Modeled in Prague for Propaganda Massage; Performed in the FSPA production of Everybody; Acted in the short film GUARD by Tim Mombourquette; Joined a circus mentorship at Breaking Circus; Created his own play; and created a knock-off Kermit puppet named Curb-it.

Currently Benton is in his last term of the acting program at Dal and is working on his performance in his last FSPA production, The Odyssey directed by Ken Schwartz from Two Planks and a Passion. The journey into the performing arts is an extremely freeing one that seems to have come full circle for Benton... A circle that will keep on rolling! Benton is excited for future projects and for the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
